This incredible log home offers tranquility while still conveniently located for hiking, horseback riding, water sports, and a short ride to downtown Jefferson and West Jefferson, NC.
Mountain Heir has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The master queen size bedroom is on the main level along with the master bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The other two bedrooms are on the upper level. One of them having a queen size bed and the other is a king bed. There is also a full bathroom on the upper level. The third bathroom is located on the lower level of the home.
Our kitchen is fully stocked with most cooking utensils to prepare your family meal and clean up will be a snap with the dishwasher. The kitchen has a regular 12 cup coffee maker AND a Keurig, toaster, cookware, dinnerware and etc. The dining table seats up to 6 with 2 wooden benches. Enjoy a meal using our gas grill on the deck. The living room has a gas fireplace for those cold fall/winter days (fireplace is seasonal).
The wraparound deck is perfect for enjoying the wooded views and the fresh mountain air.
LOWER LEVEL: The lower level offers a 4th bedroom with a queen size bed and Roku TV. There is a full bathroom. Enjoy playing a game of pool or a friendly game of ping pong in our amazing game room.
Relax after a long day of canoeing, hiking, shopping, or sightseeing in our 5-6 person hot tub!
Mountain Heir is the perfect way to spend quality time with the family. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Zaloo's Canoes, which is about 5 miles from the cabin, or hiking at one of the many trails in Ashe County. At Mountain Heir, we believe that nobody should be left behind. We will allow you to bring your four-legged family member, under 40 pounds, with you for a onetime nonrefundable pet fee of $75 per pet (these pet fees do not cover excessive pet hair or damages). Isn't it wonderful that for once you won't have to wonder how your best friend is doing in the kennel "back home?" All pets must be pre-approved by management.
There is a 2 night minimum for off peak seasons and a 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October. 4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday and a 7 night minimum for the July 4th and Christmas/New Year holidays.
Check in time is 4:00 pm or after and check out time is 10:00 am.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
***The cabin is access by state maintained paved roads. However, you it may be necessary to have 4X4 vehicles with tire chains during the winter months.
***The owners use outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure that their home remains safe. No cameras monitor the inside rooms of the home.
***There is no land-line phone in this cabin. Cell phone coverage is not guaranteed. The home does have WIFI so you may be able to call using WIFI calling.
***No Smoking inside the cabin
***Minimum age requirement is 25 years old

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
