Alpen Rose: A Luxury Retreat
Nestled in the heart of nature and tranquility, Alpen Rose offers rare privacy, yet is just minutes away from outdoor adventures like hiking, horseback riding, water sports, and more. Located just a short drive from downtown Jefferson and West Jefferson, NC, this cabin is perfect for family vacations, reunions, honeymoons, or corporate retreats.
As you step into Alpen Rose, you’ll be greeted by cathedral ceilings, expansive windows, and warm Tongue and Groove wood throughout. The inviting decor creates an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation. The living room features a plush sofa, two chairs, a Roku TV, and a cozy gas fireplace—all framed by 50-mile views of the majestic mountains.
The dining area seats 8, with a kitchen equipped with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and all the modern conveniences you need to feel at home. We also offer a regular coffee maker and a Keurig maker.
Master Suite
The spacious king-size master suite on the main level offers a Roku TV and private access to the expansive wraparound deck. The attached master bath includes a luxurious Jacuzzi tub, a separate tiled shower, and a his-and-hers vanity with granite countertops. With a tankless water heater, you’ll never run out of hot water!
Wraparound Deck & Hot Tub
Step outside to the wraparound deck, where you can enjoy the awe-inspiring views. After a day of adventure, unwind in the 6-person hot tub, allowing the soothing jets to melt away your stress. The panoramic mountain views from the cabin are truly second to none!
Upstairs Retreat
Upstairs, you’ll find a private queen bedroom with a Roku TV and an attached bathroom featuring a beautifully tiled tub/shower and granite-top vanity.
Basement Den & Game Room
Downstairs, the cozy den offers a sleeper sofa (note: we do not recommend sleeper sofas for guests over 12 years old due to comfort factors) and a Roku TV. The third private bedroom is also located here, with a queen-sized bed. Additionally, you’ll find a full bathroom, laundry area with a full-size washer and dryer, and a game room complete with a Foosball table.
Outdoor Adventures & Local Attractions
Whether you’re into hiking, canoeing, or horseback riding, Alpen Rose is ideally located for outdoor enthusiasts. Take a canoe trip with Riverside Canoe Rentals or Zaloos Canoes, hike one of the many nearby trails, or enjoy horseback riding at Burnt Hill Stables, just a short drive away. Visit the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce for more information about things to do and places to eat in the area!
Pet-Friendly
At Alpen Rose, we believe that no family member should be left behind! Bring your four-legged companion (under 40 lbs) with you for a one-time nonrefundable pet fee of $75 per pet. No need to worry about your best friend back at the kennel—they’re welcome to enjoy the cabin with you!

- July 4th, Christmas/New Year Holidays: 7-night minimum
Check-in time is 4:00 pm or after, and check-out time is 11:00 am. Please note: No smoking is allowed inside the cabin.
Winter Weather Preparedness
As you plan your trip to the mountains, please keep in mind that weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can be unpredictable, with rain, snow, and occasional fog. Winter conditions can occur from November to April, and icy mountain roads are common. For your safety, please come prepared to drive in snow and ice (4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains are recommended). We cannot offer refunds or date changes due to hazardous weather conditions, so please be prepared.
