“Northern Peaks Farm” is located in Creston, NC which is approximately 30 minutes to West Jefferson and 30 minutes to Boone. If you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet escape, THIS IS IT!! Situated on over 20 acres with breathtaking views, a 1 mile hiking trail, covered porch with rocking chairs and porch swing and a great fire pit. There is also high speed Wi-Fi internet for your convenience. Our cabin boarded by Elk Knob State Park.
Our cabin IS pet friendly. There is a onetime nonrefundable pet fee of $75 plus tax per dog (maximum 2 dog limit). There is plenty of space for long walks/hiking and what better way to spend it than with your four-legged family member.
MAIN FLOOR: As you walk in the door from our covered front porch, you’ll love how open our floor plan is. The main floor offers the spacious living room with plenty of seating, large 65” flat screen TV with Roku, small wood stove fireplace for those cold winter nights (some firewood is provided). During the summer months, there is a window unit AC located near the dining area.
The dining area can seat up to 4 guests. The step-saver kitchen has fridge, microwave, dishwasher, regular coffee maker, electric oven and granite counter tops. Stocked with most things needed to prepare a quick meal. OR you can prepare your meal on our Big Green Egg charcoal grill with a custom made stainless steel nest/cabinet.
There is a queen size bedroom with a 55" Roku TV on the main floor. The bathroom with step in shower and stacked washer/dryer is next to the bedroom and off of the kitchen.
UPPER FLOOR: Upstairs, you’ll find the 2nd bedroom with queen bed and En Suite bathroom. There is a 55" flat screenTV with Roku in this bedroom. There is a window unit AC for this bedroom.
OUTSIDE: You’ll want to spend time on the covered front porch and take in the beauty and awe of our North Carolina mountains. There are rocking chairs to enjoy along with a 2 person porch swing. Relax and take in the beauty of Mother Nature while relaxing in our new 6 person hot tub. Enjoy grilling your favorite steak on the Big Green Egg charcoal grill with a custom made stainless steel Nest cabinet. Take advantage of our nice fire pit and make memories that will last a life time. Come and enjoy our little oasis in the mountains. Hike up the hill behind the cabin to a camping/cooking shelter with seating and a small charcoal grill and small fire pit. It is located about 150 yards up the hiking trail from the beginning or about 700 yards from the cabin.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
***The cabin is access by state maintained roads. However, the driveway to the cabin is graveled and a little steep. Front wheel drive vehicles shouldn’t have any issues as long as there is no snow/ice. The driveway is not motorcycle friendly.
***The owners use outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure that their home remains safe. No cameras monitor the inside rooms of the home.
***There is no land-line phone in this cabin. Cell phone coverage is not guaranteed. The home does have WIFI so you may be able to call using WIFI calling.
***No Smoking inside the cabin
***Minimum age requirement is 25 years old
***Check in time: 4:00 PM; Check out time: 10:00 AM
- 2 night minimum for off peak seasons
- 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October
- 4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday
- 7 night minimum for the July 4th and Christmas/New Year holidays
As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions.
